On Tru64 UNIX this protocol is based on the Distributed Protocol Interface (DPI) V2, RFC 1592. DPI V2 is an experimental protocol and Tru64 UNIX does not attempt to adhere to the protocol completely. DPI was accounted for in the design so that Compaq Computer Corporation could more easily implement an eventual standard protocol. Tru64 UNIX will track and support standards that emerge in the area of extensible SNMP. [Return]
