ECO KIT SUMMARY:

An ECO kit exists for Compaq TP Desktop Connector V3.1A on 
Windows NT-Intel V4.0. This kit addresses the following problems: 

  o  If the environment variable stdl_log_file is set
     to an invalid value, i.e. the directory path is invalid, the
     application could hang when trying to do logging.

  o  On WindowsNT, if error logging is done to the
     Event Log, the translation of the runtime error codes could
     fail. This would occur only if a previous installation of
     Portable TP was manually uninstalled, and the uninstall utility
     was not used.


  o  The date manipulation routine was causing memory corruption
     under certain circumstances. This problem has been fixed.



INSTALLATION NOTES:

Installation of this kit requires that TP Desktop Connector
Version 3.1A be present on the system prior to installing the ECO.

This installation does not ask for any product install keys.

Copy the following product/platform specific executable to a clean
folder and run it.

  e.g.  Intel PC running Windows NT
  >cd c:\clean-folder
  >tpd31a01int.exe

After running the executable, go to the alpha32 directory and execute
Setup.exe.

Restrictions and Requirements:

* Installation of ECO kit will update all TPware Product Suite
  products (Application Optimizer for Windows NT, Portable TP for
  Windows NT, TP Desktop Connector & TP Web Connector) currently
  installed on the system. It is not necessary to perform a
  separate installation for each TPware product installed on the
  system.

* After installing the ECO, if your application uses the Microsoft RPC
  (msrpc) adapter, the DCE (dce) adapter, or the ACMS Gateway (acmsda)
  adapter, you must recompile your task group specification (STDL file)
  and relink with your client.

* Please refer to Release Notes for installation restrictions
  and guidelines.
