ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for DIGITAL DCE Privacy Option for Windows NT V2.2 on
Microsoft Windows NT V4.0 with Service Pack 3 or Service Pack 4 installed.
This kit addresses the following problems:
Problems Addressed in DCEPNT22E01:
o Security is not secure by using keytable file to login.
o DB44 - Locking is not working at all -- dce__db_lock_file()
o NT C Runtime call ftime() incorrectly adjusts dst bias one hour
prior to the schedule time.
o Integrated login should know if autostart is disabled
o Password strengthd and auditd did not start after a reboot
o REGGIE CHO test fails after 65 hours
o Start when nsid is already running lies
o unconfig.dce -admin for cds_secondary doesn't delete replicas
o DCENTV22SVT - Error log generated on Global Server
o Time providers and phonebook examples need makefile changes
o ECO1 must demonstrate support for WNT4.0 Service Pack 4
o Test Suite for NT4.0/SVCPAK-4 compatibility
o Linker error rdaclif_v1_0_s_ifspec - unresolved symbol
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The installation of this ECO may not proceed correctly when certain
anti-virus software is running. Compaq recommends that you disable
anti-virus software during installation of this ECO. You may
re-enable anti-virus software after installation is finished.
Install this ECO by running setup.exe from the ECO kit. The
installation procedure will detect which DCE products are installed
(Runtime, Security, CDS, or ADK) and update those products as
necessary. If, after the installation of the ECO, the DCE
installation is modified by adding other DCE products, the ECO must
be reapplied.
The ECO may be applied while DCE is running. In order for the ECO
changes to take effect, DCE must be restarted after installing the
ECO.
