OpenVMS VAXSYSB02_062 OpenVMS VAX V6.2 SYSTEM Components ECO Summary
NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.
Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for SYSTEM Components on OpenVMS VAX V6.2.
This kit addresses the following problems:
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYSB02_062 KIT:
o After installing the VAXSYSB01_062 remedial kit the system
version was changed to X6ZF-D4N and the system time was wrong.
This was due to the SYS.EXE image. This image is not needed in
the kit and is being removed, along with other SYS images that
have no ECO corrections against them.
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYSB01_062 KIT:
o The AUDIT server runs into an access violation in kernel mode
when it encounters an unknown security class.
o A process may hang if the process is being deleted while VIOC
is waiting for a CFCB lock. This process will not be deletable
since an original I/O, that will never complete, is
outstanding.
o Customer code locks the ACL, reads their ACE, updates a count
field, re-writes the ACE, and unlocks the ACL. However, the
updates to the count get lost.
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYS12_062 KIT
o A SSRVEXCEPT crash occurred early in the boot process. The
Signal Array had an ACCVIO with the message code in the
offending PC = EXE$WRTMAILBOX+00C1C and in the operand =
EXE$DELMBX+006E4.
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYS09_062 KIT
o System crashes with one of the following footprints:
INCONSTATE SYS$VCC_NPRO+00009F04
INCONSTATE SYS$VCC_NPRO+00009F00
INCONSTATE VAXCLUSTER_CACHE+03EB18
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYS07_062 KIT
o Security auditing of AME applications crash the system with a
bugcheck error of "SECAUDERR, Fatal error attempting to perform
a security audit"
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYS03_062 KIT
o Pool corruption when wait form services are used with common
event flags.
PROBLEMS ADDRESSED IN VAXSYS02_062 KIT
o If the buffer overflows during a license check, the user will
not be able to make further use of the particular product that
was doing the license check until the process that got the
buffer overflow error is stopped. If that product was OpenVMS,
any process attempting to login would hang.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The images in this kit will not take effect until the system is
rebooted. If there are other nodes in the VMScluster, they must
also be rebooted in order to make use of the new images.
If it is not possible or convenient to reboot the entire cluster at
