TITLE: OpenVMS VAXMONT01_062 VAX V6.2 MONITOR ECO Summary
Modification Date: 02-APR-99
Modification Type: New Kit
NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.
Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for the Monitor subsystem on OpenVMS VAX V6.2.
This kit addresses the following problems:
o Trying to monitor a pre-V7.2 system from a V7.2 system or
vice-versa will result in the following error:
$ monitor/node=quebit dis
MONITOR-I-ESTABCON, establishing connection to remote
node(s)...
%MONITOR-E-ERRSYSINFO, failed to collect system information
on node QUEBIT
-MONITOR-E-SRVMISMATCH, MONITOR server on remote node is an
incompatible version %MO
In order to fix the above problem, clusters that have system(s)
running V6.2 and system(s) running V7.2 must have this kit
installed on all V6.2 nodes in the cluster.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The system does not need to be rebooted after this kit is installed.
However, if the system is a member of a VMScluster, the other cluster
members should be rebooted or this kit should be installed on each
system in order to make use of the new image(s).
