SNA_PU5-VAX SNAPU5_VE02020 SNA Domain Gateway V2.0 VAX ECO Summary
NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.
Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for DEC SNA Domain Gateway V2.0 on OpenVMS VAX V5.5
through V6.2. This kit addresses the following problems:
Problems Addressed in the SNAPU5_VE02020 Kit:
o Fixed a hang with access routines connecting to the Domain Gateway.
The problem was seen from Digital UNIX V4.0 and Windows NT systems.
The IP "Do Not Fragment" indication was incorrectly interpreted by
the Domain Gateway. The complete IP datagram was treated as a
fragment, thus the infinite wait.
Problems addressed in the SNAPU5_VE01020 kit:
o Updated Operating System and Network software supported versions to
include Digital UNIX V4.0 and OpenVMS VAX V6.2 with related
DECnet/OSI supported versions.
o DTF for Digital UNIX is now supported over the Domain Gateway via
TCP/IP connections.
o Fixed erroneous NSP "invalid message format" logging on sink node.
o Fixed a problem with NSP connections using segment flow control.
o Fixed CTF tracing from DECnet/OSI on OpenVMS VAX.
o Fixed TCP/IP Domain Gateway crash seen when the OpenVMS access
routines disconnected improperly. A LES LPD was deallocated twice.
A subsequent LPD allocation would cause the crash. This could
happen from other access routines as well, but has only been seen
with DTF for Digital UNIX.
o Fixed a TCP/IP potential memory leak in GASP.
o Fixed a TCP/IP hang on inbound file transfers.
o Fixed a bugcheck in path control, SAPC.
o Fixed a bugcheck in LUMGR.
o LES V3 access violation fixed.
o DSRLST error parsing control vectors fixed.
More information regarding the nature of these problems can be found in
the ECO kit's Release Notes, SNAPU5020.RELEASE_NOTES.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The system/cluster does not need to be rebooted after this kit is
installed. The Domain Gateway must be reloaded for fixes to be made
operational. The gateway need not be reconfigured.
You should execute the following command to configure the Domain Gateway:
$ RUN SYS$SYSTEM:SNAPU5$CONFIGURE
This step creates the Domain Gateway configuration files, completing the
installation. You can create a management file and boot the Gateway at
the end of the configuration procedure; the procedure will prompt you.
