ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for PCA V4.2-40 on OpenVMS VAX V5.4 or higher. This
kit addresses the following problems:
o The PCA Collector could fail with an access violation (ACCVIO)
under certain circumstances.
If collecting PC and/or CPU data with no stack PCs enabled, any
emulated instructions could cause an ACCVIO. This often
generates a "NOHANDLER" error message.
o The IVP could not be run after installation.
The appropriate files should now be placed in SYS$TEST so that the
IVP can run after the installation is complete.
o There should no longer be any conflicts with library version
mismatches for any site running OpenVMS VAX V5.4 or later.
o PCA now correctly deals with Ada nested routines within a
subunit.
In addition, this ECO also includes corrections to the following
problems that existed with PCA V4.0.
o PCA now understands Ada routines that are operators.
o PCA now fails gracefully when the license lookup fails.
o SET DATAFILE without a file name no longer ACCVIOs in the
Collector.
o When an image has incorrectly nested DSTs, the Collector no longer
ACCVIOs when trying to initialize a datafile.
o Long call chains no longer cause the Analyzer to ACCVIO.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The system does not need to be rebooted after this kit is installed.
NOTE: The installation procedure will invoke the PCA$STARTUP command
file to restart PCA.
