PW-VMS-MAC MSAF_E02013 PATHWORKS for OpenVMS Mac File Server ECO Summary
NOTE: An OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file is stored
on the Internet in a self-expanding compressed file.
The name of the compressed file will be kit_name-dcx_vaxexe
for OpenVMS VAX or kit_name-dcx_axpexe for OpenVMS Alpha.
Once the file is copied to your system, it can be expanded
by typing RUN compressed_file. The resultant file will
be the OpenVMS saveset or PCSI installation file which
can be used to install the ECO.

ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Macintosh) V1.3 on OpenVMS
VAX V5.5-2 or greater and OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 or greater. This kit
addresses the following problems:
Problems addressed in the MSAF_E02013 kit:
o Fixed ACCVIO (Access Violation) when reading a shared file.
o Add support for the AppleShare 3.6 Client.
Problems addressed in the MSAF$ECO_001_013 kit:
o Fixed a DUP key problem that occurred when using the Retix mail
gateway application.
o Nonpropagating ACE will be attached at the beginning of the ACL.
o Fixed short name DUP key errors.
o Fixed a problem where the DECshare file server could return a
wrong offspring count and it could return a short folder
enumeration reply. This could happen if a directory contains
OpenVMS files with names that are longer than 31 characters in
length.
o The DECshare file server has been fixed so that it will not get
upset about finding a file and a subdirectory with the same
potential Mac name in the same directory. For example:
FRED.;5 ! would have "Fred" as a Mac name
and
FRED.DIR;1 ! would also have "Fred" as a Mac name
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The system/cluster does not need to be rebooted after this kit is
installed. However, the File Server must be shutdown and restarted
using the following commands
ADMIN/MSA STOP FILE_SERVER/ALL
ADMIN/MSA START FILE_SERVER/ALL
in order for all kit changes to take effect.
NOTE: This will cause all existing file server connections to be
broken; therefore, please remember to warn all users before
shutting the file server down. If you do not wish to shutdown
and restart the file server at the time of the installation, it
will automatically occur the next time the system is rebooted.
