ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for MMS V3.0 on OpenVMS Alpha V1.5 or higher. This kit
addresses the following problems:
Problems addressed in the MMSAE01030 Kit:
o The MMS V3.0-04 installation will fail on systems without
DECwindows Motif[R]. Depending on whether some or all of the
DECwindows Motif image files are left on the system, the
installation will either fail with a linker error:
%DECSET-I-LINKIMAGE, Linking V3.0-04
%LINK-F-OPENIN, error opening
SYS$COMMON:[SYSLIB]DECW$DXMLIBSHR.EXE; as input
-RMS-E-FNF, file not found
%VMSINSTAL-E-INSFAIL, The installation of DECSET V12.0 has failed.
or it will report numerous linker warnings and the IVP will fail:
%DECSET-I-LINKIMAGE, Linking V3.0-04.
%LINK-W-NUDFSYMS, 141 undefined symbols:
%LINK-I-UDFSYM, APPLICATIONSHELLCLASSREC
%LINK-I-UDFSYM, APPLICATIONSHELLWIDGETCLASS
:
Beginning IVP for MMS
%MMS-I-BEGINIVP, Beginning V3.0-04 IVP.
%DCL-W-ACTIMAGE, error activating image DECW$DWTLIBSHR
-CLI-E-IMAGEFNF, image file not found ...
%VMSINSTAL-E-IVPFAIL, The IVP for DECSET V12.0 has failed.
This problem has been corrected allowing MMS to install on systems
with or without DECwindows Motif.
o When MMS and CMS are licensed via a concurrent-use license MMS
generates the following error when attempting to execute CMS
commands within the build file:
CMS FETCH TEST.FOR /OUTPUT=TEST.FOR /GEN=1+ ""
%LICENSE-F-NOAUTH, DEC CMS-USER use is not authorized on this node
-LICENSE-F-EXCEEDED, attempted usage exceeds active license limits
-LICENSE-I-SYSMGR, please see your system manager
%MMS-F-ABORT, For target TEST.FOR, CLI returned abort status:
%X1A948AF4.
This problem has now been resolved allowing MMS and CMS to perform
correctly.
Please refer to the Release Notes included in this ECO for
additional information.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
