ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for DEC DB Integrator V3.1A on OpenVMS Alpha V6.1
through V6.2. This kit addresses the following problems:
Problems addressed in the DBIAVA1031 Kit:
o This ECO kit contains all the corrections that were included in the
DEC DB Integrator V3.1A MUP.
+ Concurrent User license error: An "exceeded user license" error
was being encountered even when a single desktop user was
accessing DBI.
+ Error when querying Horizontally Partitioned View (HPV) with
remote partitions: A "system error" and a secondary message
indicating "request out of synchronization" was being returned
when querying an HPV with remote partitions even when some
partitions were available.
+ Long view definitions resulting in an MBLR length greater than
64K were resulting in an error.
+ If a query on an Horizontally Partitioned View (HPV) contained a
LIMIT TO, then data from available partitions were not returned
by DBI.
+ Data not returned from Available Partitions of an HPV: DBI was
treating certain cases of unavailable partitions of a HPV as a
fatal request error.
+ Application tools such as FOCUS and LEVEL4 were not working with
DBI because they were generating DSRI message tokens that went
unrecognized by DBI.
+ Duplicate rows were incorrectly returned in certain instances
when selecting using a dbkey from a view containing UNIONALL.
Refer to the Release Notes included in this ECO kit for more
details.
o In addition, this ECO kit corrects an installation problem that was
experienced when the DEC DB Integrator V3.1A MUP was installed on
OpenVMS Alpha systems.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The system/cluster does not need to be rebooted after this kit is
installed. However, the following command
@SYS$STARTUP:DBI$STARTUP.COM
should be executed after the installation of the ECO kit. If the
installation is performed on a cluster, you must execute the command on
all nodes in the cluster.
