OpenVMS ALPOPDR05_061 Alpha V6.1 - V6.1-1H2 OPDRIVER ECO Summary

Copyright (c) Digital Equipment Corporation 1994, 1995. All rights reserved. OP/SYS: OpenVMS Alpha COMPONENT: OPDRIVER SOURCE: Digital Equipment Corporation ECO INFORMATION: ECO Kit Name: ALPOPDR05_061 ECO Kits Superseded by This ECO Kit: AXPOPDR04_061 (AXPOPDR) AXPOPDR03_061 AXPOPDR02_061 AXPOPDR01_061 ECO Kit Approximate Size: 216 Blocks Kit Applies To: OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 through V6.1-1H2 System/Cluster Reboot Necessary: Yes ECO KIT SUMMARY: An ECO kit exists for OPDRIVER on OpenVMS Alpha V6.1 through V6.1-1H2. This kit addresses the following problems: Problems addressed in the ALPOPDR05_061 kit: o Occassionally, when output is going to OPA1, a 'WRITE SYS$OUTPUT' timeout will occur. Problems addressed in the AXPOPDR04_061 kit: o The AXPOPDR01_061, AXPOPDR02_061 and AXPOPDR03_061 kits did not apply to OpenVMS AXP V6.1-1H2. This kit takes the fixes from those previous kits and also applies them to V6.1-1H2. Problems addressed in the AXPOPDR03_061 kit: o The Alpha DEC 2000-300 system will not do MODEM control on port OPA1. The following DCL command on port OPA1 will not work: $ SET TERMINAL/PERM/MODEM OPA1 Problems addressed in the AXPOPDR02_061 kit: o When any OpenVMS AXP SMP (multi-CPU) system that has a modem connected to OPA1 tries to do a SET HOST/DTE, system access succeeds but in a short time the machine will crash. Problems addressed in the AXPOPDR01_061 kit: o When a SET TERM/SPEED=xxxx is done on the serial port OPA1 (the small MMJ connector on the back of DEC 3000-500 and DEC 3000-400 systems) nothing happens. The baud rate stays locked at 9600 no matter what it is set to. A "SHOW TERM" indicates that the speed has been changed but the port still operates at 9600 baud. INSTALLATION NOTES: In order for the corrections in this kit to take effect, the system must be rebooted. If the system is a member of a VMScluster, the entire cluster should be rebooted.
