ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for DIGITAL UNIX version 3.2C. This kit addresses
the following problems:
o Added RGB as a valid type for the color expression in the color
table.
o Incorrect behavior of XmTextField in overstrike mode: in Motif
1.2.3, InsertChar replaces two characters in overstrike mode.
o Fixed a corrupted pointer in Motif text field widgets.
o Fixed the window resize problem using the mouse after selecting
Japanese language in Session Manager Options pulldown menu and
pressing NumLock key.
o Fixed the memory leak in the Motif scrolled list widgets.
o Fixed a problem where the Motif Print Widget can leave
processes until the parent application exits.
o A potential security vulnerability has been discovered,
where dxsession writes to /tmp directory, which under
certain circumstances, system integrity may be compromised.
o Fixed problem of an ungraceful exit can be made through the
window manager's 'Close' button, whose behavior is inconsistent
with that of DECwindows Session Manager's (dxsession) 'End
Session' button.
o Motif applications may abort when you use the drag-and-drop
feature. Motif toolkit function XmCreateDragIcon() gets a
"BadMatch (invalid |parameter attributes)" error and then
crashes because the code fails to set the correct image
dimensions.
o When using the Bookreader library, which is part of the
DECwindows Motif toolkit, from within an application,
bookreader changes the caller's effective UID to the real
UID, but then never restores it to the original effective UID,
before returning control to the calling program. If an
application like dxchpwd is run from a non-root account, it
fails with a privilege violation.
