ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for Micro Focus Dialog System V2.3. This kit addresses
the following problems:
Problems Addressed in the MFDE02230 Kit:
NOTE: This ECO contains fixes for Micro Focus COBOL V3.2. It provides
fixes for problems reported in Micro Focus COBOL V3.2B and
V3.2B-1.The fixes are applied to Micro Focus COBOL and Micro Focus
Toolbox. Relevant fixes are applied to Micro Focus Operating
System Extensions (OSX). Micro Focus Dialog System is updated to
match the product documentation and version numbering.
Problems raised and fixed in Micro Focus COBOL V3.2B-2:
o NWB41948 Screen section accept shows incorrectly on screen.
o NWB43509 Unaligned PID access: RTS 114 error when using CHAIN.
o PAO31330 When the same subprogram is called twice, .gnt code gives
wrong results.
o PAO31552 ACCEPT FROM TIME gives incorrect time when compare to C.
Problems raised and fixed in Micro Focus Toolbox V3.2B-2:
o PAO31557 main.1 missing from Toolbox to reflect Fileshare V2.
Problems Addressed in the MFDE01230 Kit (Problems raised and fixed in
Micro Focus COBOL V3.2B-1):
o NWB36086 Compiler Error 20-S was given when code is valid.
o NWB37424 RTS 114 was generated in .gnt when subprogram pass linkage
field to next subprogram.
o NWB37467 Nested IF statement was incorrectly being executed in
GNT/EXE code.
o PAO24336 Incorrect condition check use to fail in .gnt/.exe code.
o PAO26238 COBSW=+B1 does not return file status "00" when file is
OPEN I-O.
o PAO26278 File status 9/68 is not returned with file OPEN INPUT and
NODETECTLOCK.
o PAO26392 RTS 114 was generated in .gnt when subprogram pass linkage
field to next subprogram.
o PAO26449 Need signal_regime cobconfig tunable adding to enable
Sybase/DCE.
o NWB36515 Compiler Error 20-S has been resolved when checking with
-C IBMCOMP.
o PAO27213 An 050-F internal error is produced when generating RM
compatibility file handling code has been resolved.
o NWB38381 A new cob resolves a compilation error on ldtab.s when
using -xF.
o NWB38428 Starting SCREENS from TBOX menu causes a RTS 114 error has
been resolved.
o NWB39815 STOP RUN will not flush file buffers to disk unless you
use CLOSE.
o NWB42116 38-F Generator error with Unstring and HOST-NUMMOVE
directive.
o PAO29230 046-F internal error when generating to .gnt or .exe.
o PAO29749 046-F internal error when generating to .gnt or .exe.
o PAO29892 Use of XREF directive with Report Writer syntax causes
fatal error.
o PAO30095 Report Writer output does not contain formfeed characters.

INSTALLATION NOTES:
Installing Micro Focus COBOL requires DEC OSF/1 V3.0. This version of
the Micro Focus COBOL products has also been tested with DEC OSF/1
V3.2.
The distribution of the Micro Focus products are provided in the form of
ECO kits. The products are provided complete on the kits. The tar files
of MFCE02322.tar, MFTE02322.tar, MFDE02230.tar and MFOE02322.tar must be
unpacked before using the setld utility to install the kits. Be sure to
use the setld -d option to deinstall the product prior to the
installation of this version. The documentation within the unpacked tar
file includes this document, the Micro Focus COBOL Installation Guide for
Digital UNIX, and the Micro Focus COBOL Product Release Notes. The
documentation is provided in POSTSCRIPT[R] and ASCII forms in the
following directories, depending on the product you are licensing:
