ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for Advanced Printing Software (APS) V1.1 on Compaq
Tru64 UNIX V5.1. This kit addresses the following problems:
o Advanced Printing "core" library
Files:
/usr/pd/lib/libpdcore.so
Problem Addressed:
In Advanced Printing Software V1.1-000714, as supplied with
Tru64 UNIX V5.1, all client and server programs fail with a
segment violation if the TruCluster BASE subset is installed
and the system has not yet been configured to be a cluster
member. This patch corrects the problem, allowing Advanced
Printing utilities to operate properly after the TruCluster
BASE subset is installed and before the host is configured as
a cluster member.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
This ECO applies to all Advanced Printing Software V1.1 installations.
Note that new systems that came Factory Installed with Tru64 UNIX V5.1
and later may have Advanced Printing Software V1.1 preinstalled. These
systems should also apply this ECO.
Installation of this ECO requires prior installation of the APXBASE110
subset. During the installation process, updated files will be replaced.
To install this ECO, use the setld command:
# setld -l
Once the ECO installation is completed, Compaq recommends that all
Advanced Printing Software processes on the system be stopped and
restarted for the changes to take effect:
# /sbin/init.d/apx stop
# /sbin/init.d/apx start
Use the what(1) command to verify the version of the patched file
libpdcore.so.
# what /usr/pd/lib/libpdcore | grep osc_cluster
osc_cluster.c 1.2 8/28/00
If this ECO needs to be removed, use setld to delete the ECO subset. When
the subset is de-installed, the original files will be replaced.
# setld -d APXBASE110ECO001
