ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for SNA APPC/LU6.2 Programming Interface V3.2 on
Compaq Tru64 UNIX V4.0 - 4.0D (formerly DIGITAL UNIX). The DEC SNA LU6.2
Programming Interface Release Notes contain a complete explanation of this
release. This kit addresses the following problems:
Problems Addressed in SNALU62_V322:
o Could not shorten LU-LU password
o Server would hang if BIND image was rejected
o BIND response could overwrite end of buffer
o Add support required for BACKOUT verb implementation
o CPIC verbs after CMRCV failed with CM_OPERATION_NOT_ACCEPTED
More information regarding the nature of these problems can be found in
the ECO kit's release notes.
Problems Addressed in SNALU62_V321:
o SEGV when deallocating the CP_LOCAL data structure
o Security Type was not saved in the configuration file
o A null string for the LU-LU password was not allowed
o Wrong error message TPNRET was returned
o Correct logging of TP name
o snalu62_wait_for_completion() could SEGV
o Yacc table overflow
o BIND response without Control Vectors being rejected
More information regarding the nature of these problems can be found in
the ECO kit's release notes.
This problem is fixed in the next release of SNA APPC/LU6.2
Programming Interface for Compaq Tru64 UNIX.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The ECO kit is distributed as a tar file containing the kit which can be
installed using the setld command. The tar file should be unpacked to
a suitable directory and then the setld command issued specifying that
directory as the source of the kit.
For example, if the tar file containing the kit has been copied to
/usr/tmp/snalu62322.tar:
# mkdir /usr/tmp/snalu62322
# cd /usr/tmp/snalu62322
# tar xf /usr/tmp/snalu62322.tar
# setld -l .
If the kit is delivered on tap11 then the commands would be:
# mkdir /usr/tmp/snalu62322
# cd /usr/tmp/snalu62322
# tar x
# setld -l .
Note that this is not an update kit, and the current version of the LU6.2
Product must be deleted before installing this ECO.
Once the kit is installed, you should follow the instructions in the
installation guide's After installation section.
