ECO KIT SUMMARY:
An ECO kit exists for WANrouter 90/250 V1.2 on MS-DOS V5.0 and above.
This kit addresses the following problems:
o Problem with failover to an X25 DA circuit: the routing circuit
providing backup must be in the OFF state prior to failover. The
configurator did not provide any means to set an X25 DA circuit to
OFF on initialisation; therefore routers came up with the DA circuit
ON.
o Problem with failover to an X25 DA circuit: a router would crash if
the primary circuit was re-stored.
o When using a DECwanrouter 90EW, the configurator should permit the
user to select whether files are loaded from the load host or Flash
RAM. However, the appropriate network management commands were not
included in the router's configuration file.
o In some circumstances, a reset of a LAPB link on an X.25 connection
would cause the WANrouter V1.2 software to crash.
o After the configuration file had been loaded, occasional random
crashes could occur while the WANrouter V1.2 was initializing.
o The file ncl$globalsection.dat, used by NCL, was not compatible with
the new network management features used with DECnet/OSI for OpenVMS
Version 6.0/6.1.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
The system does not need to be rebooted after this kit is installed. However,
the WANrouter 90/250 should be shutdown and restarted in order for all kit
changes to take effect.
