Report for week ending 10/12/99

Fly-throughs have been used to navigate around the sinuses and other
cavities within the head. Some work has
been carried out in an attempt to improve the 'surface render' effect of
the volume rendering. This has been only
partially successful as it introducing new, and previously unseen
aliasing artifacts. Voxel modification will be
included in the latest release of Volumizer (1.2) but there are a number
of problems with the routines to be
included. I have spoken to Dave Akers (Lead Engineer for Volumizer) and
my suggestions will be included in
release (1.3).

Work continues on reading DICOM data. The aim is by Christmas to be able
to preview header information for
.raw and .dicom files and view the data. Once this is finished then time
will be spent on bug fixing.
