NAME
dxkerneltuner - Manages the attributes of loadable kernel subsystems
SYNOPSIS
/usr/bin/X11/dxkerneltuner
OPTIONS
The dxkerneltuner command accepts all of the standard X Toolkit command-
line options, which are documented in the OPTIONS section of the X(1X)
reference page.
The following list documents selected X Toolkit options.
-bg color, -background color
Specifies the color to use for the window background.
-d dispname
Specifies the display screen on which dxkerneltuner displays its
window. If the display option is not specified, dxkerneltuner uses the
display screen specified by your DISPLAY environment variable. The
display option has the format hostname:number. The default is :0. For
more information, see the X(1X) reference page.
-display dispname
Performs the same function as the -d option.
-fg color, -foreground color
Specifies the color to use for the window foreground.
DESCRIPTION
The Kernel Tuner application, dxkerneltuner, is used to maintain and manage
the attributes of loadable kernel subsystems. It enables you to update the
current and boot time values of updatable kernel subsystem attributes.
Use Kernel Tuner to do the following:
· Display kernel subsystems
· Display boot time and current values of kernel subsystem attributes
· Modify boot time values of kernel subsystem attributes
· Modify current values of updatable kernel subsystem attributes
· Read values for kernel subsystem attributes from a file
· Write values for kernel subsystem attributes to a file
You must be root to run Kernel Tuner.
To start Kernel Tuner from the CDE desktop, do the following:
1. Click on the Application Manager icon on the CDE front panel.
2. Double click on the System_Admin application group icon.
3. Double click on the Monitoring Tuning application group icon.
4. Double click on the Kernel Tuner application icon.
Online Help
For additional information about the graphical user interface, see the
online help volume. To open the online help volume from within Kernel
Tuner, run the application and choose Overview from the Help menu in the
main window.
You can click on the topics in the outline area to move through the online
help. You can also click on hyperlinks, which are displayed using
underlined text. In each dialog box within the application, you can click
on the Help button to get reference information on that dialog box.
You can get help for a specified component in the application. To do so,
choose On Item from the Help menu in the application. The cursor changes to
a question mark. When you click with the question mark, reference
information is displayed about the part of the application that you clicked
on.
The online help does not document individual kernel subsystem attributes.

Configuration and Tuning guide.
EXAMPLES
To start Kernel Tuner from the command line, enter dxkerneltuner
You can view the Kernel Tuner online help volume without running the
application. To open the Kernel Tuner help volume from the command line,
enter the following command:
/usr/dt/bin/dthelpview -helpVolume \
/usr/dt/appconfig/help/C/Dxkerneltuner.sdl

Contains the Kernel Tuner application
