volstartup(8)
NAME
volstartup - Start Logical Storage Manager (LSM) daemons.
SYNOPSIS
/sbin/volstartup
DESCRIPTION
The volstartup script is used to start LSM daemons and make LSM functional.
This checks if vold, the LSM configuration daemon is running or not. If
vold is running, it is killed and a new vold is started. volstartup also
starts two error logging daemons called voliod.
volstartup would usually be run if LSM was disabled for some reason and
needs to be re-started. It can also be run after a system is rebooted but
LSM has not yet been enabled.
