Because the books in this library come from several different sources, navigation aids differ between books. These are the different kinds of books:

	Books with a DIGITAL UNIX title page
	Books with no DIGITAL UNIX title page

Navigating in books with a Tru64 UNIX title page

Each book with a Tru64 UNIX title page opens in a framed window with the Table of Contents to the left and the book itself to the right. A small panel beneath the Table of Contents contains two buttons:

	This button takes you to the index of the book you are reading. There is also an entry for the index in the Table of Contents. If the book has no index, this button is blank.
	This button brings you to the help information you are now reading. You can leave this window open for reference. To return to the page you came from, do not use the browser's [Back] button. Instead, find the window in which you clicked the button.

Navigating in books with no Tru64 UNIX title page

Some of these books have no graphic navigation aids. Most books of this type contain a set of text links similar to the following example at the bottom of each page:

Previous Page | Next Page | Table of Contents | Index

The table of contents in these books is integrated with the title and copyright page.

Other books have a navigation button bar above the book's title at the top of the title and copyright page. This button bar looks like the following illustration:

The button bar appears at the top and bottom of the table of contents, each chapter, and the index. It can include up to five different buttons; only buttons that are active appear.

The following table describes what the buttons do:

	This button searches forward for the first chapter marker later in the book than your present location. If you are in the last chapter, this button does not appear.
	This button searches backward for the first chapter marker earlier in the book than your present location. If you are in the first chapter, this button does not appear.
	This button takes you to the title and copyright information at the beginning of the book. If you are in the title and copyright section, this button does not appear.
	This button takes you to the table of contents for the book you are reading. If you are in the table of contents, this button does not appear.
	This button takes you to the index for the book you are reading. If you are in the index, this button does not appear.
