AltaVista Search CD-ROM Info

This CD-ROM contains an AltaVista Search index covering all of the books and reference pages on the CD-ROM. To use the AltaVista Search CD-ROM feature, follow these steps:

  1. Mount the CD-ROM on a PC running Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT Version 4.0 or higher, with Version 4.0 or higher of Microsoft Internet Explorer or of Netscape Navigator or Communicator.

  2. Launch your browser and open the Tru64 UNIX Documentation Library. (If you have AutoPlay enabled, the browser will automatically start and open the library.)

  3. If you do not have Java enabled, change your browser's preferences to enable Java. Then either disable proxies or add host 127.0.0.1 to your browser's "No Proxy On" list. You will need to make these changes only once.

  4. Click the AltaVista Search button in the Table of Contents.
