The MeTA1 for Tru64 UNIX (20 MB) kit contains the MeTA1 sources and the 
MeTA1 installable (setld) kit.

The Message Transfer Agent (MeTA1) supports the Simple Mail Transfer 
Protocol (SMTP) as specified by RFC 2821 and various extensions, e.g., 
STARTTLS, AUTH, PIPELINING, as well as other protocols, e.g., LMTP.

MeTA1 is intended to be used as a secure and efficient mail gateway.� It 
does not provide any mail content modification capabilities, e.g., 
masquerading of addresses or changing (addition, removal) of headers.

The kit requires Tru64 UNIX V5.1B, or higher, is packaged in the form of 
a gzipped tar file. Unzip the file using the gunzip(1) utility, unpack 
the tar file into a directory using the tar(1) command.
