Eye to Near Distance



• The most important factor in perspective projection
• Assuming eye to near distance = 1 unit
• At least half of the depth resolution is in the first unit distance from the near plane
• Solution to maintain depth accuracy:
  • Near plane as far from eye as possible
  • Near plane as close to object as possible
