			By Team Reaction

Please read gloom.txt for a more complete description of the gameplay. Information
about running the game and servers is included in this file. Also, be sure
to check out our web page at www.planetquake.com/rxn/gloom for full details
and strategies on each class. See bottom for contacts.

Command Line

   To run the game:

        quake2 +set game gloom +set deathmatch 1 +set teamgame 1 +maxclients XX +map gloom1a

Setting the fraglimit will cause gloom to check the total score. Each time
you kill someone your total score increases by a value relative to how good
the class you killed was (ie, a marine is worth one, a stalker worth six points, ect).
A spawn will earn you ten points. So, it would be a good idea to set the
frag limit to something between 100 and 200. Note: The total score is not
the same as the frags you use to 'buy' your class.

If you are running a server, it may also be a good idea to do +set timelimit 15, in case a
situation occurs where the game needs to be reset (like an egg falling out of the level or whatever).

Map rotation

To use map rotation, you will need to put the map names in your server config like this:

        set mapname1 gloom1a
        set mapname2 gloom2
        set mapname3 gloom

A sample server.cfg is included. You must put atleast one map in the rotation
or set the "same level" flag or else the server will stop.

Chase Cam

In chasecam mode, [ and ] change who you are chasing.

Motd

Add the cvar 'motd' to your server config to have a message printed on the
  team select menu.

  for example..

  set motd "Team Reaction Rules!"

Available Maps:

        gloom2
	gloom1a
	gloom

Necessary Bindings:

If you are ever unsure how to use an item, look thru your inventory ( [ and ] ).
All of them can be used with the ENTER key.

ident or id - identify other players
flashlight - see in the dark. Can be toggled
+use - used to reload for marines or for many alien attacks
changeteam (change class/team w/o losing frags)
grenade use whatever grenade you have in your inventory
turret - control turrets (engineers only). Must point at an enemy then use this
  use "c4 explosive"

voice X Use one of the preset vocals for your class
For the humans, X should have the following values
		0: Spawning phrase	(area)
                1: Basic Help message	(global)
                2: "Follow me" order	(area)
                3: Affirmative reply (global)
                4: Need Defense (global)
		5: Need Ammo (Global)
                6: Taunt message	(area)

For the aliens, they are just screams.

Of course, you don't NEED to use these, but people may find them
        useful/fun.
