mpegaudio Release Notes
mpegaudio is a simple mpeg encoder/decoder that does LayerI&II audio encoding/decoding.
It is provided mainly for developers, and people who do not have an mpeg
encoder. For a better quality implementation, you really should look at
the IRIS dmedia tools. Silicon Graphics' Audio Library contains compression
schemes for mpeg audio as well as aiff, wav, afic, and sun u-law. The mpeg
audio encoder can be purchased directly from Silicon Graphics. Call your
sales office for more information.
This distribution comes with two programs, musicin, and musicout, which converts from and to mpeg audio, respectively. to use, please see
the README files provided in /usr/freeware/info/mpegaudio/.

Installation Method
All of the subsystems for this product can be installed using IRIX. You
do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the Software Installation Administrator's Guide for complete installation instructions.
Compatibility
This software is compatible with IRIX 5.3 and IRIX 6.1.
