securitylite lets you use the camera attached to your Indy or O2 as a security camera, recording only "interesting" images while running. Recorded video files may be viewed using securityviewer. There are several ways to run securitylite:
Running from the command line: run securitylite as you would any other program. There are several command line options. A short description of them is available by typing 'securitylite -h'.
Running securitylite as a cron job: see the crontab(1m) man page for more information. For example, to run securitylite from 7pm until 8am on weekdays and then all weekend, you would do something like this:
0 19 * * 1,2,3,4 /usr/freeware/bin/securitylite -d "/usr/tmp/securitylite/" -v 1 -n -o 13 >> /usr/tmp/securitylog
0 19 * * 5       /usr/freeware/bin/securitylite -d "/usr/tmp/securitylite/" -v 1 -n -o 61 >> /usr/tmp/securitylog
Running securitylite as a screen saver: select 'Desktop / Customize / Screen Saver' from the Toolchest (or run the ssaver application). Then select SecurityLite from the list of screen savers.
When used as a screen saver, the same instance of securitylite generally runs as long as you are logged in. This can lead to large video files. You may want to periodically view and delete the file, and restart securitylite. You can do this by running the securityreset shell script.
