1.0  Installing the patches for Netfinity Manager & Client Services

* Download and save the executable to your hard drive.

* Execute the program.  This program will self-extract.

* This patch should only be applied to the versions for which it
  was intended.  
               
* Fixes for each OS supported are found in the following directories:

        NM52Y2KI\OS2 - OS/2
       
        NM52Y2KI\W32 - Windows 95/98/NT
        
        NM52Y2KI\WIN3X - Windows 3.x       


* SINFG30.EXE should be applied to Manager and Client Services 
  (Stand-alone and Active mode only) 

* SYSINFO.WEB should be applied to Managers only.

* Stop the Netfinity Support Program, NETFBASE.

* Replace the appropriate files.

* Restart the Netfinity Support Program.



2.0  Details about Y2K and Netfinity Manager & Client Services
______________________________________________________________

The Y2K related defect recently discovered and corrected in IBM
software products, Netfinity Manager & Client Services for 
Netfinity Manager, is an incorrect date presentation to the 
end-user in the System Information Tool. 

When the year portion of the date of any of the operating system
files: 

     CONFIG.SYS 
     AUTOEXEC.BAT 
     AUTOEXEC.NCF 
     STARTUP.NCF 

or any of the files referenced in any of the above operating system
files is 2000 or above, the "System Information Tool" will 
incorrectly display the year portion of the date of that file as 
"0100" (instead of "2000"), "0101" (instead of "2001"), "0102" 
(instead of "2002") and so on.  Since this issue surrounds the 
Graphical User Interface (GUI) not all installations are affected. 
By default, the Client Services "passive" installation option would
NOT be affected since the System Information Tool's GUI "SINFG30.EXE"
is not installed. 

This defect was corrected and is included in version 5.20.3, 
(both the US and Japanese versions), except for Windows 3.x which
is corrected in 5.20.5.  All versions above 5.20.5 include this fix.
