Subject: NFSv4 draft passes to Proposed Standard


Our area director, Allison Mankin, informed myself and the
working group chairs that the IESG has passed the NFSv4
specification to Proposed Standard.  Woohoo!!!

As document editor, I want to extend my thanks to the
co-authors of the protocol specification. 

I also want to thank all of those within the working group
for their comments, review, and general participation.

The end result is a distributed file system protocol that
has been openly defined, will be useful for many different
environments, and is capable of changing as the future brings
inevitable transformations.
