This patch will allow NFS Gateway 1.1 installations on NetWare 3.x to upgrade to the 1.2 level of the NetWare NFS Gateway product. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM Server could abend with message: "Abend: DeleteFromTrusteeList could not find Trustee Node". CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM When remote NFS Server goes down, NFS Gateway will time-out NFS mount after ~96 sec's. with default configuration. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM Copy of files to a Gateway volume will change the creation date. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM dir command could produce output with duplicate file names on a Gateway volume. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM When Using a SUN NIS+ server as the default NIS server for NFS Gateway, NIS maps on the NFS Gateway are not updated correctly. CAUSE NISSERV.NLM SYMPTOM When NFSGW.NLM is loaded, trustee assignment information from applications, like PSERVER.NLM, are not updated correctly. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM NetWare connection to a Gateway volume can become 'hung' and cannot be cleared in Monitor. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM Server abend with message: "DeleteFromHash was called with directory entry number on the hash search list" CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM Server abend with message: "NFSGW: (gwch-ncp) try to write to a NON-NFREG file" CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM Server abend with message: "Locked Directory Entry already locked..." CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM NFS Gateway could grant more effective rights to file/directory on a gateway volume than would be normal for a NetWare volume. CAUSE NFSGW.NLM SYMPTOM Possible abend when two or more workstations issue LockFileSet NCP call. CAUSE LOCKD.NLM SYMPTOM When Gateway volume name is more than 7 chars, mounting and dismounting will produce shadow file corruption error. Install ------- 1. Copy the self extracting file GWY194.EXE into a temporary directory on the server with NFS Gateway 1.1. 2. Extract the file by typing GWY194. 3. From the server console issue NFSSTOP or UNISTOP. This will unload the NLM's listed in the NFSSTOP.NCF or UNISTOP.NCF file. 4. Load INSTALL and choose PRODUCT OPTIONS. 5. From within PRODUCT OPTIONS, press insert and enter the path of the NFSGW1 directory within the temp directory, Example: sys:temp\nfsgw1 6. After the file copy process is done, the configuration menu, UNICON, will be invoked. 7. Select the appropriate time-zone when prompted. If NIS and DNS was not set up properly in NFS Gateway 1.1, enter appropriate NIS and DNS information. Refer to the NFS Gateway 1.1 manual for details. If for some reason the GWY194 patch must be deinstalled, do the following steps: 1. Load INSTALL from the server and choose PRODUCT OPTIONS. 2. Highlight the GWPTCH product and press delete. The following message will appear and can be ignored: Could not remove the serialization information but product removal will continue.
