details

Overview:

This Support Pack contains updates for all components of NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.5, and insures compatibility with NetWare 6.5 SP8.

The purpose of this Support Pack is to provide a bundle of fixes that have all been tested together. These files have undergone component testing, core OS testing, and integration testing with other Novell products.

To order the Support Pack CD, go to
http://support.novell.com/tools/csp/orderinfo.html.

System Requirements:

- NetWare 6.5 SP8 already installed
- NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.5 already installed
- Recommended: 512 MB RAM beyond the requirements of NetWare 6.5

Installation:

To install NFS Gateway Support Pack 6:

1. Extract n65gysp6.zip to a temporary_location on the NetWare server.
2. Load NWCONFIG --> Product Options --> Install a product not listed --> ESC --> F3
3. Input the path: temporary_location\n65gysp6

After installing NFS Gateway Support Pack 6:

1. If this server is also an iManager 2.7 server, iManager should now show a new NFS Gateway plugin available for installation.

If this server is not an iManager server, but you wish to install the new NFS Gateway plugin on another NetWare iManager 2.7 server, then move sys:\tomcat\5.0\webapps\nps\packages\NFSGYAdmin.npm to that same path on the other NetWare server.

2. If NFS Gateway volumes already exist on this server, but this is the first support pack applied since NFS Gateway SP1, run the migration utility, nfsgymig.nlm, for migrating the existing attribute shadow files to the new format.

For details, see Migrating NFS Gateway Shadow Files in the "NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.5 Administration Guide" (http://www.novell.com/documentation/nfsgynw65/index.html).

Uninstalling:

To Un-install NFS Gateway Support Pack 6:

1. Load NWCONFIG --> Product Options --> Install a product not listed --> ESC --> F3
2. Input the path SYS:\SYSTEM\NFSGYSP6

Technical Support Information:

1. After installing NetWare 6.5 SP8, if this NFS Gateway support pack is not present, NFSGY.NLM will fail to load, and the following messages appear on the logger screen.

NSS-3.27-403: nssRegistration.c[2244]
The module "NFS GATEWAY" has an invalid version number of 3.26. It should be 3.27.
Load the version displayed on the screen.
