ABSTRACT:

This update corrects a packet fragmentation problem in NFS Gateway, which has
been seen to cause partial write failures on NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.0 and
NFS Gateway for NetWare 6.5.

This update can be used with either:
NetWare 6.0 SP5 and NFS Gateway SP1 for NetWare 6.0.
NetWare 6.5 SP2 and NFS Gateway SP1 for NetWare 6.5.

It is also strongly recommended that TCPIP be updated with TCP610J.EXE or
greater (for NetWare 6.0) or TCP657J.EXE or greater (for NetWare 6.5) for
related fragmentation concerns.

This download was rebuild on June 20, 2005.  The code did not change.  Only the
readme Abstract and the download status changed (from beta to full release).

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Rename SYS:SYSTEM\PKERNEL.NLM to PKERNEL.OLD.

2.  Copy the enclosed PKERNEL.NLM to SYS:SYSTEM.

3.  Either restart the server or execute:
GYSTOP
NFSSTOP
UNLOAD NFSADMIN
UNLOAD PKERNEL
NFSSTART
GYSTART

ISSUE: 

When doing an NFS write, a block of NFS file data has usually has to be
fragmented into multiple packets.  If the last fragment is the maximum size
which the NetWare server can send, an additional, unecessary fragment with no
data is sent.  This causes the receiving side to discard the entire block of
data.
