It will automatically create a subdirectory upon extraction to hold the files included. 2) At the server console load NWCONFIG. 3) Select "Product Options" 4) Select "Install a Product not listed". 5) If the "Previously Specified Paths" screen appears, press 6) Select to specify a different path. 7) Enter the path to the directory where nss.ips exists. (SYS:\NW6NSS5C, or the path to the sub-directory where the patch was extracted). 8) Select to install. 9) After the installation is completed, the server must be restarted. A "RESTART SERVER" or "RESET SERVER" can be issued from the console command prompt to cycle the operating system and activate these newer NSS NLMs. ISSUE: NSS issues fixed since the release of NetWare 6.0 Support Pack 5: 1. Fixed a problem in the cache balance code. When the cache balance is disabled it was still returning memory to the operating system allowing NSS memory to decline. NSS issues fixed since the release of NW6NSS5A.EXE: 1. Added an extra NULL test to the TTS log file handle at shutdown. 2. Changed modfiy info to allow a connection with RWECMF rights to change the create date/time. 3. Improved the detection of circularly linked beast tree leaves in rebuild. 4. Increased the number of supported groups from 64 to 256 in the function that computes the effective rights for display. 5. Prevent a connection from obtaining the same oplock twice (fixes a CPU hog abend). 6. Added a cleanup name message in an error path after a common lookup (helps fix a resource leak). NSS issues fixed since the release of NW6NSS5B.EXE (new for this release): 1. Fixed a server abend during a VCU process while the user doesn't want to create a VCU screen. 2. Made UDF more tolerable to disk recording errors. 3. Truncate the file name in oplock waiting error message to 48 characters so we don't overrun a kernel buffer for alerts. 4. Fixed a problem where purgeable blocks was going negative. 5. Covert a filename from unicode to ascii before printing. 6. Fixed a problem where a file wouldn't get deleted if there were no available free tree blocks. 7. Fixed NCP 87,44 to only replace the R/W/Deny Read and Deny Write bits. This could cause an issue where a client could erroneously be able to delete an open file. 8. Fixed an abend caused by unloading DOSFAT.NSS when files were being cleaned up at tht time of the unload. 9. Fixed a problem with compression when truncating uncompressed data inside of a compression structure. This would cause problems with the specific file. 10. Fixed a problem where under heavy load a file structure could get a second share latch for flushing, but only clear it once. 11. Added a queue for directory quotas so we do not run out of threads. 12. Fixed a problem where duplicate file names could be created. 13. Fixed rebuild to remove duplicate file names and place them in the orphanage directory. 14. Fixed a problem where overflow nodes in the name tree couldn't be read during a verify. 15. Fixed an abend problem caused by compression mishandling an error path.
