ISSUE: Resolved inability to install Win2NCS (w2n213.exe) on the Windows 2000 platform. When installing w2n213.exe on Windows 2000, customers would see the following error: "Problems loading W95DMGR.DLL" At this point, the only option was to exit the setup. The InstallShield rule was modified and all dynamic "OS Type" checking removed, forcing the installation to be detected as NT/2000. The version of InstallShield that Win2NCS uses caused the rule to install the Windows 95 driver. Known Issue: When logging off as , restarting Windows 2000, or Shutting down Windows 2000, the workstation experiences a General Protection Fault. This GPF does not occur on the Windows NT platform. The Windows 2000 GPF displays as follows: *** STOP: 0x00000076, (0x00000000, 0x81603160, 0x00000004, 0x00000000) PROCESS_HAS_LOCKED_PAGES The Windows 2000 GPF only occurs when Win2NCS redirection is enabled on the workstation upon logging off, restarting or shutting down. The current and only available work-around for this GPF is to either disable Win2NCS redirection (there is an icon for this in the Win2NCS folder) or ending the NTVDM.exe task prior to logging off, restarting or shutting down. This version of Win2NCS is provided as a courtesy to our customers who were previously unable to install Win2NCS on Windows 2000. The above mentioned Windows 2000 GPF has been reported to Engineering and will not be addressed. This is also the final release of Win2NCS version 2.13.
