NOVELL TECHNICAL INFORMATION DOCUMENT TITLE: TSA5UP18.EXE TID #: 2971717 README FOR: tsa5up18.exe SUPERSEDES: tsa5up17.exe NOVELL PRODUCTS and VERSIONS: NetWare 5.1 NetWare 6 NetWare 6.5 ABSTRACT: This file, tsa5up18.exe, contains the latest release of the SMS files for backup and restore to date. These are later than the SMS files contained in nw65sp3.exe. There is an html file (TSAFSGW.HTML) included in the GW directory that provides more information on using the new TSAFSGW.NLM with NetWare and Linux. Additional information on TSAFSGW.NLM is provided in the readme.txt file. ----------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER THE ORIGIN OF THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL TO NOVELL. NOVELL MAKES ALL REASONABLE EFFORTS TO VERIFY THIS INFORMATION. HOWEVER, THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR YOUR INFORMATION ONLY. NOVELL MAKES NO EXPLICIT OR IMPLIED CLAIMS TO THE VALIDITY OF THIS INFORMATION. ----------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Copy these files and their respective subdirectories to sys:system. You can rename the old files to preserve them. The old TSAs and smdr.nlm can then be unloaded and the new ones loaded. This can be done at the server console provided there are no active connections to the smdr.nlm or active backup/restore jobs. Unloading the TSAs with active connections/jobs can cause the server to hang/abend. Unload the tape sofware before unloading/reloading the TSAs and smdr.nlm. ISSUE: NEW ISSUES FIXED IN THIS RELEASE -------------------------------- -Server abends when backing up HSM migrated files or directories with extended attributes on traditional volumes. -Archive date was not set on traditional volumes during backups. -If graded authentication was used some files were not visible for backups even though the backup user had full rights. -Restore fails when the full path is used for data sets that were backed up using only their terminal node names. -SMS modules can now be used with LIBC or CLIB based backup applications. - TSAFSGW.NLM is included in this release. This is a wrapper for GroupWise backups that fixed 820e and 8201 errors. -Fixed a problem with GroupWise DB files being skipped from the backup with FFFDFFC6 errors.
