NOVELL PRODUCTS and VERSIONS:
NetWare 5.1

ABSTRACT:

The Novell Consolidated Support Pack 9 (CSP 9), which includes NetWare 5.1
Support Pack 6 (SP 6), erroneously installs version 2.16 of the 32-Bit Array
Controller Driver for Novell NetWare (CPQARRAY.HAM). CPQARRAY.HAM Version 2.16
may appear to run normally on the server, but it was not designed for (or
tested with) NetWare 5.1 and should not be used in this configuration.

Note: CPQARRAY.HAM Version 2.09 is the correct version to be used with NetWare
5.1.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

You may use NWCONFIG to install this patch.  

NWCONFIG
1. Load NWCONFIG | Product Options | Install a product no listed | 
2. Choose F3 to specify a different path and point path to the "cpqarray.ips"
file in the patch cpqacpi directory.  
3. Select F10 to accept.   
4. When patch is complete, you will need to down and restart your server for
changes to take effect. 


ISSUE: 

SCOPE  
Any ProLiant server that contains a Smart Array Controller, is running NetWare
5.1, and is receiving (or requiring) an installation of the Novell Consolidated
Support Pack 9.

 
RESOLUTION  
To avoid installing version 2.16 of the 32-Bit Array Controller Driver for
Novell NetWare (CPQARRAY.HAM) during the installation of CSP 9, select to NOT
update the hardware device drivers.
