ISSUE: Dell Computer Corporation has developed a producted to manage Storage Devices for their server class PowerEdge Systems. The product name is "Dell OpenManage-Array Manager". The product will not load on NetWare 4 without winsock files installed due to depandancies on WS2_32, WSPIPX.NLM and WSPIP.NLM. An error such as "VXSVC.NLM cannot be loaded until WSPIP.NLM is loaded" will appear if the Dell OpenManage-Array Manager is loaded without the presence of the necessary Winsock files. The Winsock files do not install by default on Netware 4 and the NW4WSOCK.EXE file must be installed. Any application or database which makes calls to the winsock interface will need to enable winsock API support. In the case of Dell Computer's, OpenManage product, the entire communication framework is based on winsock with the client and server communication going through a TCP and UDP port.
