NOVELL MAKES ALL REASONABLE EFFORTS TO VERIFY THIS INFORMATION. HOWEVER, THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR YOUR INFORMATION ONLY. NOVELL MAKES NO EXPLICIT OR IMPLIED CLAIMS TO THE VALIDITY OF THIS INFORMATION. ----------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: On the ManageWise server, or managed server 1. Unload NMA 2.1 - THIS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING -FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF TRENDING DATA . 2.) The batch file UPDATE.BAT Installs the NMA files automatically. The SYNTAX is the following FORMAT : UPDATE d: x: Where d: is the drive letter mapped to the ROOT of the SYS: volume which has ManageWise 2.5 installed and is to be updated. Where x: is the drive letter of the ManageWise Console 2.) The new NTREND.NLM creates the NTREND directory in the directory from which it is loaded. EXAMPLE : If the NTREND.NLM IS LOADED from the system directory , the directory tree will look like this: SYS:SYSTEM\NTREND. NTREND.NLM starts writing and will only read the trending files from the new directory. For example: SYS:NTREND - Before update SYS:SYSTEM\NTREND After update 4.) The BATCH FILE Copies all of the files from the SYS:NTREND directory to SYS:SYSTEM\NTREND. 5.) The NMA2.NCF has been changed and the following parameter was added : LOAD NTREND DIRECTORY=SYS:SYSTEM\NTREND 6.) Down the Server & reload.. NOTE: A new NTREND.INI file has been included in this release. NTREND.INI specifies the initial values for the trends and thresholds supported by NMA. Check this file against your existing NTREND.INI in SYS:ETC before using. SYMPTOM: 1.)SERVINST: This changed the VolumeByteToKbytes to take three longs as parameters instead of taking one long, dividing it by 1024, and returning the result. This solves the problem of volumes of over the 4 GIG size being truncated to a long. 2.) Fixed SetCategoryEntry get and SetParmsEntry get. 3.) Added command line parameter of NOSAP to servinst, for Native IP. 4.) Added a NOSAP message to the servinst.mdb help file. 5.) Also minor fix to servinst.nlm unload message. 6.) NTREND: Where free redirection blocks is incorrectly reported, and low free space alerts on CD-ROM volumes were reported. 7.) Nwtrap.nlm :TTS alarms not coming to MW Console Alarm Report. 8.) Select the MW 2.5 server and select "Performance", and Netware Server Trends". Then select the CPU utilization, and click on the "30" days button. This will abend your server ! 9.) PGPE in NWTRAP.NLM whenever we process a specific Netware Alert. 10.) Upgrading from MW 2.1 to MW 2.5 destroys the trending data accumulated by MW 2.1 11. Hostmib.nlm - installed software version on the desktop management screen matches the version on the Netware server under Product Options. 12. The cpu utilization informatin is lost with the old ntrend.nlm , this was rectified. 13.) Moves trending data to new Trend directory. SYS:\SYSTEM\NTREND, by backing up trend files from SYS:\NTREND to SYS:\SYSTEM\NTREND and adding the required NTREND DIRECTORY LINE in the nma2.ncf file. 14.) changes to the update.bat file to correct syntax errors. SOLUTION: Apply this Patch.
