When you run the Messenger Installation program, it automatically creates a Messenger Server object and fills in the general property information that is available during installation.
This property page provides general information about the Messenger server. This information applies to any Messenger agents running on this server (Messaging Agent and/or Archive Agent). If the server information is different for either agent, specify that server information on the General property page of the Agent object.
After you change settings on the General page, restart the Messenger agents to put the new settings into effect.
Enable Messenger Services
Select this option to enable Messenger on this server.
Enable SNMP
You can monitor the Messenger agents from any SNMP management and monitoring
program, such as Novell ZENworks® for Servers. When this option is selected,
the Messenger agents send SNMP traps to network management consoles for display
along with other SNMP monitored programs. This also enables SMNP polling, which
asks the Messenger agents for status and configuration data.
SNMP Community
Type your system SNMP community string.
