This download contains the following NovellŽ Modular Authentication Service™ 2.01 component snap-ins to ConsoleOne™:

• NMAS™ 2.01 Snap-in

This is the base snap-in and must be installed first

• NMAS 2.01 Method Snap-ins (Optional)

  Install this snap-in after the NMAS 2.01 snap-in to administer the Enhanced Password method and the Workstation Access method.

• RADIUS Snap-in (Optional)

  Install this snap-in after the NMAS 2.01 snap-in to administer the RADIUS method.

If you have the Enhanced Password method, the Workstation Access method, and the RADIUS method, you can download and install the full NMAS snap-ins file. Installing the full NMAS snap-ins file is equivalent to installing all three individual files.

These snap-ins are functionally equivalent to the snap-ins released with the NMAS 2.0 product, but they have been adapted to support accessibility standards. See Accessibility Notes for more information.

This release is available in English only. Updates to these snap-ins will be offered as they become available.

Prerequisites

• ConsoleOne 1.3.2, available from Novell Software Downloads, installed on either a NetWareŽ server or a Windows* workstation
• NMAS 2.0 or later. This snap-in will not work with NMAS 1.0. If NMAS 2.0 or later is not installed and you install this snap-in, you will receive error messages running ConsoleOne.
• Client NICI, available from Novell Software Downloads. Client NICI must be installed on each workstation that runs ConsoleOne. This snap-in works with either Client NICI 1.5.7 or 2.0.2. The version of Client NICI you use should be the version that shipped with your NMAS software.
• You must have Novell RADIUS installed from the NMAS installation before you apply the RADIUS snap-in.

Recommendations For Optimal Performance

• Install ConsoleOne and the snap-ins you need onto your Windows workstation.
• The faster the workstation and the more memory, the better.
• Install only the snap-ins you need. Launch time is longer with more snap-ins.
• For Windows 95/98, turn off file caching in the client.
  1. Right-click the red N in the system tray.
  2. Click Novell Client Properties > click Advanced Settings.
  3. Modify these settings:
     • Cache writes from on to off
     • Delay writes from on to off
     • File cache level from 3 to 0
     • File write through from off to on
     • True commit from off to on

Installation Instructions

1. Know where ConsoleOne 1.3.2 is currently installed.
2. Download the self-extracting ZIP file to a temporary location on a Windows workstation.
3. Double-click the ZIP file > click Extract.
4. In the Extract To field, specify the path where ConsoleOne is installed. For example, C:\NOVELL\CONSOLEONE\1.2
5. Make sure the following options are selected:
• All Files
• Overwrite Existing Files
• Use Folder Names
6. Click Extract.

This will place the NMAS snap-ins in their correct locations.

Known Issues

Occasionally, Text Area widgets accept focus, but they do not indicate that they have focus.
