Product Overview

Description

The DirXML™ Driver for Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) provides a generic solution for synchronizing data between eDirectory™ and JDBC-accessible relational databases. The principle value of this driver resides in its generic nature. Unlike most DirXML drivers that interface with a single, well-defined application, this driver can interface with most relational databases and database-hosted applications.

Software Requirements

The DirXML Driver for JDBC requires the following:

• Novell® eDirectory 8.6.1
• DirXML 1.1
• ConsoleOne® 1.3.3
• A third-party JDBC/ODBC driver

New Features

The driver includes the following new features:

• The driver now supports embedded SQL in XML events. Embedded SQL facilitates features such as user account management, virtual triggers, and native SQL queries.
• The driver's minimum database requirements have been significantly reduced.
• The driver supports Microsoft’s* JDBC driver for SQL Server 2000.
• The driver allows primary key values to be retrieved before or after insert statements are executed.
