SYMPTOM:

Using the Novell DOS 7 (ND7) EMM386.EXE memory manager on some
computers with Cyrix CPU's may cause problems.  The issue has not
been isolated to particular machines though.

A common error message is: "Gate A20 Already Enabled" when the EMM386
memory manager loads.  Other machines may hang when the EMM386 memory
manager loads.

CAUSE:

The cause of the problem has not been determined.

SOLUTION:

ND7 Engineering has evaluated a machine which has a Cyrix CPU and is
exhibiting the problem.  Engineering has found possible work arounds:

1.  Set DPMI=ON on the EMM386.EXE line.

2.  Go into the machines CMOS and disabling the Internal Cache.

3.  Go into the machines CMOS and exclude the HMA, FFFF+64K
(FFFF-10063).  This option may not be available on some machines.

No fix will be provided.  As a result of Novell's decision to focus
on network computing

technologies, the company has announced that it will no longer
enhance or modify the Novell

DOS 7 and DR DOS retail products.  Development for these products was
discontinued in July

1994.
