SYMPTOM:

Customer is using IBM PC-LAN network v1.34.  When trying to delete a
drive mapping on the client using Novell DOS 7, the machine hangs. 
The syntax for the delete is NET USE x: /D where x: denotes the drive
mapping to be deleted.   The problem is happening primarily on IBM
Valuepoint machines.

CAUSE:

It is possible to reproduce this problem on other machines.  In every
case, if the proper memory locations were excluded properly, the
hanging would cease.  The biggest problem with this configuration, is
that the IBM Valuepoint has areas of SHADOW RAM that cannot be
disabled.  In addition, the IBM PC-LAN Network Adapter II that the
customer is using has both a ROM, and a RAM address.  The machine and
card must be configured so as to not overlap memory regions.  Novell
DOS 7 is more sensitive than MS-DOS to memory, interrupt, and port
address conflicts.

SOLUTION:

Exclude all SHARED RAM, ROM, and SHADOW ROM addresses.

This was also tested by IBM.  They had no problem using Novell DOS 7,
on an IBM Valuepoint using the following configuration:
