SYMPTOM:

System will hang on formating tape

TROUBLESHOOTING:

When trying to do a backup on a not yet formated tape, thus formating
the tape before (manually or automatically upon data saving), it will
start to do the first block, and than hang. Reading data from the
tape drive was o.k.  Customer has tried it with Iomega supplied
software, and other ones (Fastback, QBackup, CP Backup). 

Symptoms can be  reproduced with vanilla boot. Works fine with
MS-DOS. This streamer is a floppy        extension based one.

SOLUTION:

SPR # 770117

No fix will be provided.  As a result of Novell's decision to focus
on network computing

technologies, the company has announced that it will no longer
enhance or modify the Novell

DOS 7 and DR DOS retail products.  Development for these products was
discontinued in July

1994.
