SYMPTOM:

EMM386 hangs a DEC client machine when DEC tries to load.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

DEC reported that our EMM386 was hanging client machines.  I tested
here on a DEC 4.1 client machine that I setup, as was able to
duplicate the problem. When DEC tried to initialize the card, the
machine hung.  I tried the HIMEM.SYS that ships with DEC and the
workstation loaded fine.  DEC is still supporting 4.1, 4.2, as well
as the new 5.0 versions of their product.

SOLUTION:

No fix will be provided.  As a result of Novell's decision to focus
on network computing

technologies, the company has announced that it will no longer
enhance or modify the Novell

DOS 7 and DR DOS retail products.  Development for these products was
discontinued in July

1994.

 For now use the HIMEM.SYS that comes with DEC.
