TITLE: System Hangs after SLC Now! Driver Loads DOCUMENT ID: TID15165 DOCUMENT REVISION: 1 DATE: 01MAR94 ALERT STATUS: Yellow README FOR: NA NOVELL PRODUCT and VERSION: Novell DOS 7 ABSTRACT: NA --------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: THE ORIGIN OF THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL TO NOVELL. CAUSE: By booting the machine and pressing F8, the user was able to pinpoint the problem as the EMM386.EXE file. This device driver is required so that DOS will recognize the 386 upgrade. So, this should not be considered a "bug" because the driver needs to be present before EMM386.EXE can recognize the machine as a 386. SOLUTION: Moving the SLC driver to the beginning of CONFIG.SYS file solved the problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Any trademarks referenced in this document are the property of their respective owners.
