NOVELL MAKES NO EXPLICIT OR IMPLIED CLAIMS TO THE VALIDITY OF THIS INFORMATION. ----------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOM Problems with TaskMAX & SuperStor with Quicken v5 ISSUE/PROBLEM Intuit has been getting reports from customers using Stacker from Stac Electronics and now from customers using SuperStor from AddStor that Quicken 5.0 has certain problems when executing from a compressed drive. There are also reports on not being able to swap tasks under TaskMAX while running Quicken. SOLUTION It is Novell's recommendation that where possible users should run Quicken from a non-compressed drive or from a floppy. TaskMAX will not work when Quicken 5 is run. Apparently, Quicken intercepts all keyboard input and TaskMAX is not getting any keystrokes. This does not cause TaskMAX to fail. It only means that you cannot switch tasks while Quicken is running. When you exit Quicken it will restore the keyboard and TaskMAX will function normally. Intuit Technical Support recommends the use of the /K switch to allow TaskMAX access to the keyboard.
