Novell Client v4.91 for Windows 2000/XP

ABSTRACT:

491_nwgina_3.exe is a patch file for the Novell Client v4.91 for Windows
2000/XP. It includes fixes for problems relating to the NWGINA.DLL and
LOGINW32.DLL modules, found after the 4.91 client update was released.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

== PRE-INSTALLATION ==

1. This patch is designed to update the Novell Client v4.91 for Windows
2000/XP. Be sure to install only on this version of the client.

== PATCH INSTALLATION ==

1. Expand the self-extracting file 491_nwgina_3.exe (this file) to a temporary
folder.
2. Open the folder.
3. (recommended, but optional) Rename the existing files (with a .old
extension, for example) which will be replaced with this patch kit in the
following locations.
  <System_Root>\System32
     nwgina.dll
     loginw32.dll
4. Right-Click on _491_nwgina_3.inf and then click on INSTALL.
5. You will be prompted to reboot. This reboot is required to complete the
installation.

Another method to install is to manually copy and replace the existing
NWGINA.DLL and LOGINW32.DLL in directories listed in Step 3, above.

== OVERLAYING THE 4.91 INSTALLATION SET ==

The files in this package can also be overlaid on top of a Novell Client 4.91
installation set so that when SETUPNW.EXE is run to install the Novell client
you will be installing the core 4.91 Client and the updates contained in this
package in one operation.

To update the installation set with the file in this patch set, extract this
package to a temporary location, then copy the resultant directory structure to
over the top of the i386 folder in your "Novell Client 4.91" installation.

ISSUE: 

This version of NWGINA.DLL and LOGINW32.DLL fixes the following issues seen
with the 4.91 code:

Fixes included in 491_nwgina_0.exe:

1. Fax application doesn't pop up when 4.9SP2 or later client is installed. See
TID 10096416. (398175)

2. Novell Client does not dynamically add the user SID to the registry. See TID
10097017. (100369668)

3. Unable to access encrypted file system after changing Domain password.
(Requires nwgina.dll and LoginW32.dll) See TID 10096567. (10515)

Fixes included in 491_nwgina_1.exe:

4. After installing the 4.9 client the workstation shuts down when trying to
unlock. See TID 10097504. (80641)

5. Workstation crashes when install 4.91 client with JAWS application. See TID
10097363. (78405)

6. Windows 2000 blue screens with 21A error when VNC client installed and
trying to login thru VNC connection. See TID 10097455. (79219)

Fixes included in 491_nwgina_2.exe (and 491_pka.exe):

7. Shutdown option from non-zero session attached to console fails.	(10438)

8. DLU creates a new local account on the workstation after NC 4.83 to 4.9x
upgrade.	See TID 10197170. (407341)

9. XP machines getting legacy GPO files.	(414468)
