INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:


To install this update you must be running one of the following Novell clients:
Novell Client 4.8 for Windows NT/2000
Novell Client 4.71 for Windows NT/2000
Novell Client 3.3 for Windows 95/98
Novell Client 3.21 for Windows 95/98


INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS NT 4.0 AND WINDOWS 2000 PLATFORMS:

1. Extract the 253829.EXE package into a temporary directory.

2. Rename and make a backup copy of the existing NWWS2NDS.DLL file in the
%systemroot%\system32\netware directory.  (e.g.
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\NETWARE\NWWS2NDS.DLL)

3. Either right-click the WINNT.INF included and select "Install" from the
context menu, or manually copy the NWWS2NDS.DLL file into the
%systemroot%\system32\netware directory (e.g. C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\NETWARE).

4. Accept the prompt to restart the workstation, or manually restart the
workstation if the file was manually copied.


INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 95/98/ME PLATFORMS:

1. Extract the 253829.EXE package into a temporary directory.

2. Rename and make a backup copy of the existing NWWS2NDS.DLL file in the
%systemroot%\system directory.  (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\NWWS2NDS.DLL)

3. Either right-click the WIN9X.INF included and select "Install" from the
context menu, or manually copy the NWWS2NDS.DLL file into the
%systemroot%\system directory (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM).

4. Accept the prompt to restart the workstation, or manually restart the
workstation if the file was manually copied.


ISSUE: 


Solution 10016658: High Windows NT Workstation or Windows NT Server CPU
utilization.  SPOOLSS/SPOOLSV process hangs and/or shows high utilization, and
printing from workstation fails.  LAN trace shows the Windows machine
recursively requesting the NDS attribute SvcTypeID from objects that do not
hold that attribute.

Solution 10057998: Server will peg at 100% utilization during peak hours.  High
utilization at one or more NetWare servers is seen at the same time.  LAN trace
shows the Windows 98 machine recursively requesting the NDS attribute SvcTypeID
from user and workstation objects that do not hold that attribute.
