NetWare Client for Mac OS v5.11 Updates. The updated files are the NetWare Client, NetWare UAM, Netware File Access, Netware Print Access, MacIPX Ethernet, MacIPX, NetWare Control Strip and NetWare Print Chooser

ISSUE: 

FIX 1:
NetWare UAM. Mac OS 8.x users could not login via the Chooser using the NetWare
Encryption. (Clear passwords turned off at the server.)

FIX 2:
MacIPX Ethernet. Customers using Nubus LAN cards and Open Transport (OT) were
not able to use the Novell Client. A work around was to turn off the OT. This
update is required for Mac OS 8.x which only allows OT. For System 7.x users, the
OT must be turned back on. (Via the Network Software Selector.)

FIX 3:
When a user selects the Collect for Output in QuarkExpress v3.32, the
following error is received:

  "File is locked [-54]"

The Collect for Output attempts to gather all of the linked graphics and prompts the user for a location to store all the files.  If they choose the Mac hard drive or the network drive the above error occurs when any of the files are stored on the file server.

The Macintosh workstation is logged in to the server via IPX through the
NetWare Client for Mac OS 5.11 client.


FIX 4:
MacIPX Ethernet always uses OT calls if the mac is a pci-based mac.


FIX 5:
Changed the NetWare Client to attempt a case 97 when it receives a NCP 253 or 255. This allows the client to read the NetWare 2.1x server bindery in order to obtain the 4.1x server information and location.

FIX 6:
Fixed MacIPX for a situation where it does not find the network and sets the network address to 0 or N/A, Especially seen in Mac G3 and Mac OS 8.x and going into MacIPX control panel and selecting frame types from auto or switching appletalk then back to ethernet does not seem to help.

FIX 7:
Fixed NetWare Print Chooser on System Mac OS 8.x situation where machine hangs or gives a system error with the Bomb symbol.

Known Issues:
1. Occassionally, MacIPX doesn't find a network and sets the network address
to 0.  In this case you can go to the MacIPX control panel and select
appletalk, and then select Ethernet again.  Or you can re-boot.  

2. When 2 cards are installed, it seems to work ok on startup, but in the
MacIPX control panel when switching to the other card, sometimes the system
will crash.

3.  Situation where running LaserWriter 8.3.2 and 8.3.3 doesn't work with NetWare Print Chooser, Use new 8.4.x laserwriter driver (Do not use LW 8.5.1); OR print via Appletalk instead of IPX.

Installation Instructions:

Drag and drop the NetWare Client, NFA, NPA, & MacIPX Ethernet in the Extentions
folder within the System Folder. 

Drag and drop the NetWare UAM in the Appleshare folder within the System Folder.

Drag and drop the NetWare Print Chooser in the NetWare Client Utilities folder.

Drag and drop the MacIPX in the Control Panels folder within the System Folder.

ONLY drag & drop the NetWare Control Strip in the Control Strip Modules Folder within the System Folder if Control Strip is installed & enabled.
