ABSTRACT:

Updated ACU.EXE for the Novell Client 4.83 SP1 for Windows NT/2000/XP to
address issues of ACU.EXE not invoking SETUPSP.EXE when executed on a
workstation with the 4.83 client already installed.

Also included are the SETUPSP.EXE executables from both Novell Client v4.83 SP1
for Windows NT/2000/XP and Novell Client v3.32 SP1 for Windows 95/98.  These
are being provided as a convenience to customers who downloaded the client
installation packages "Novell Client v4.83 including SP1 on Windows NT/2000/XP"
or "Novell Client v3.32 including SP1 on Windows 95/98" packages from
http://download.novell.com/ (which did not include the SETUPSP.EXE
executables), and also to address the Novell Client v3.32 SP1 for Windows 95/98
specific issue described in the "Issue" section of this file's readme.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

For the Novell Client v4.83 SP1 for Windows NT/2000/XP, extract the
NCSP1ACU.EXE package into a temporary directory and then copy the ACU.EXE,
NWLANGID.DLL and SETUPSP.EXE files from the .\NCSP1ACU\WINNT\i386\ directory
over top of the corresponding files in your Novell Client v4.83 SP1 for Windows
NT/2000/XP client installation directory.  (Note there may not be a SETUPSP.EXE
executable already in your client installation directory; just copy SETUPSP.EXE
into the same directory as where you're overwriting ACU.EXE and NWLANGID.DLL.)

For the Novell Client v3.32 SP1 for Windows 95/98, extract the NCSP1ACU.EXE
package into a temporary directory and then copy the SETUPSP.EXE executable
that matches your client language (for example,
".\NCSP1ACU\WIN9X\IBM_ENU\SETUPSP.EXE" for English, or
".\NCSP1ACU\WIN9X\IBM_DEU\SETUPSP.EXE" for German, etc.) into your Novell
Client v3.32 SP1 for Windows 95/98 client installation directory.


ISSUE: 

ACU.EXE, NWLANGID.DLL & SETUPSP.EXE for Windows NT/2000/XP

In a Novell Client v4.83 SP1 for Windows NT/2000/XP installation set with both
the full SETUPNW.EXE and SP-only SETUPSP.EXE installation options available,
ACU.EXE would fail to invoke SETUPSP.EXE on a workstation that already had the
4.83 client installed and only needed the SP1 updates.

SETUPSP.EXE for Windows 95/98

These SETUPSP.EXE executables have not been updated or modified since 3.32 SP1
were originally released.  Customers intending to use ACU.EXE to install the
"Novell Client v3.32 including SP1 on Windows 95/98" package from
http://download.novell.com/ may desire to copy the appropriate SETUPSP.EXE into
their extracted installation set so that ACU.EXE will have SETUPSP.EXE as an
available installation option.

Those packages did not include the SETUPSP.EXE executable, which is required if
the customer wants only SETUPSP.EXE to run instead of the full SETUP.EXE /ACU
installation program when a workstation it deemed to only need the support pack
updates.  (Meaning when the workstation is detected to already have the 3.32
client installed, and only needs to have the SP1 updates added.)

Customers who downloaded the NC332SP1.EXE package from
http://support.novell.com/ and overlaid them as described in the readme already
have these SETUPSP.EXE executables, and do not need to obtain them via this
NCSP1ACU.EXE package.
